Evening time following the weekend wedding at Lulworth Castle in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.
All the business of the day has passed, the light is perfect and there is time to have a quiet look around and some atmospheric shots.
A truly breathtakingly beautiful location and a break in the August rainfall made for a successful day.

Again, a lucky break in the weather even though the wind was cruel and blasting us with sand!
There was a sudden break in the terrible weather this week and the Edis Family were booked for a photoshoot on the beach at Sandbanks, all day it looked like we would be postponing our appointment and then there was a glimmer of sunshine and off we dashed to the shoreline.
We headed straight for the beach outside the Sandbanks Hotel and let the children run around and let off steam. Two photogenic young ladies and their lively little brother. He was brilliant fun and ran everyone ragged and the two girls were so easy to photograph.
Late August and September has a lovely light and it’s a great time for a family photo shoot before the children go back to school.
Due the recent adverse weather conditions I now have a backlog of bookings so the blog will be busy over the next week or so as I catch up.

It was a wet and windy August day at the Wimborne Minster, the whole of Dorset in fact, even the Bournemouth Air Festival was cancelled today.
However, the vast space inside the Minster at Wimborne has such beautiful stained glass windows which provide a colourful backdrop and soft light that it made up for the unpredictable British summer weather.
I was one of the luckiest Dorset Wedding Photographers today, I kept dry!

There are so many beautiful details in a wedding day and the sometimes the shy bridesmaids can get missed out. It may the simple bow on the dress or the buttonhole on the grooms lapel, highlighted by the natural light available on the day. A wedding photographer has to pick out the fine detail which can be easily forgotten in the hustle and bustle of such a busy day and sometimes only remembered later, by the reminder of a photograph!

Ali and Mark chose a fabulously sunny day to get married at The Captain’s Club in Christchurch with it’s beautiful terrace overlooking the river. Good tempered English weather just tops off the arrangements for a stunning wedding venue such as this. Initially, a camera shy bride, she blossomed and relaxed and forgot I was there completely.
